Hi, it's me again, Sarah! Today I come back to tell you about my visit to “one of the most beautiful villages in France”: Blesle. The village is located in the Alagnon valley and unfortunately I visited this charming place on a rainy day!

Explore Blesle, a picturesque village where history and culture meet. During your visit, don't miss the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre, a splendid abbey founded by Ermengarde and dedicated to women. With its impressive choir of more than eleven meters wide, it ranks among the largest choirs of the churches of Auvergne. Let yourself also be seduced by the beauty of its majestic organ.
As I strolled through the alleys, I had the pleasure of admiring the half-timbered houses and the sculpted doors. I also discovered remains of the old fortress built by the barons of Mercœur, including a tower, a keep and a surrounding wall.
To delve into local traditions, be sure to visit the Musée de la Coiffe. Here you will find numerous display cases displaying headdresses and costumes worn up until the beginning of the 20th century, offering a captivating insight into the customs of the villagers. On the ground floor, also admire the model of the fortified village, made by the students of the Blesle college between 1995 and 1999.
In Blesle, you will find many small shops, including the hotel-restaurant "The Bougnate", run by Dominique Dubray. With great kindness, he showed me around his establishment. The rooms are welcoming and spacious, and the cuisine showcases local and fresh products. A real treat!
I was really enchanted by this village! Don't hesitate to come and explore Blesle and let yourself be seduced by its history and authenticity! In addition, a treasure hunt game allows you to discover the village while having fun. Can't come right away? No worries! You can download the app for free “Blesle Virtual Tour” on the App Store or Google Play. It offers a course for adults, a course for children, as well as period reconstructions.
