To 15 October 2022

As part of the establishment project led by Les Résidences Saint-Dominique, located in the city center of Brioude, and the Culture and Health system developed by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Health Agency, the Regional Department of Cultural Affairs Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and interSTICES, the residents of the EHPAD expressed the desire to share their memories of Brioude and more particularly those around the shops of the city of Brivadoise because many residents are former city merchants.

Based on this observation, it was decided to combine expectations and objectives to highlight these "Living Memories" through first of all, the collection of this memory, its transcription in connection with culture, heritage with the intervention of the Country of Art and History of the SMAT du Haut-Allier. After these times of discussion in the room and in the field, the residents supported by the facilitators chose to produce watercolors representing the businesses of the city.
To do so, they benefited from the intervention of photographer Jérémy Mazet who took a series of photographs of the shops in the city of Brivadoise.
Residents chose the businesses they wanted to paint. The visual work was undertaken by the residents thanks to the intervention of the painter and visual artist Corinne Chany. She introduced them to the art and how to create a watercolor.
This artistic and cultural project entitled COMMERCES D'ANTAN resulted in the realization by the residents of about twenty watercolors where the shops have their place.

With the support of the Union of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Brivadois and the Brioude-Sud-Auvergne Tourist, Trade and Crafts Office, and the owners of the shops, discover the COMMERCES D'ANTAN exhibition combining the watercolors and model photos in the windows of two former shops in the town of Brioude, rue Jules Maigne and rue Sébastopol.
