Vine and Heritage Museum

In the heart of the village of Vieille-Brioude, the Vine Museum invites you to discover a rich and authentic winemaking heritage, reflecting a tradition that once flourished on the hillsides of the Upper Allier. Housed in a traditional building next to the church, this museum retraces the history of local winemakers through a collection of antique tools, photographs, and invaluable personal accounts.

The tour immerses you in the daily life of the vineyard, its cultivation, winemaking, and the importance of wine in rural life. It also includes a visit to the museum garden, which overlooks the Allier River. This pleasant walking area offers breathtaking views of the valley, which comes alive in summer with canoeing on the Allier River.
This museum-garden is the result of the work of volunteers who actively maintain this space full of history and nature.
The visit, which is free, is open from April to All Saints' Day, ideal for an informative and friendly discovery combining heritage, landscapes and history of the Brive region.
