Tourist town 5 km south of Brioude; From the top of its rocky outcrop, the village of VIEILLE-BRIOUDE dominates the Allier valley at the confluence of Ceroux

All year, every day.

The village was built more than 1000 years ago, in place of a disappeared castle occupying a motte in the heart of the village. It has always been marked by its reinforced bridge in the 19th century, the last passage over the Allier; King Lothaire and his son, the future Louis V, stayed there on the occasion of the marriage of the second.
The 15 surrounding villages or localities, all located in a classified area, bring a more rural touch, the whole being a veritable nest of greenery, suitable for the flourishing of a very rich fauna.
Very beautiful bucolic hikes, are to be done on foot or by bike, along the rivers in the wooded areas.
