Kintsugi which literally means Kintsugi (⾦継ぎ, "golden joint") or kintsukuroi (⾦繕い, "golden repair"). Repairs that are sublimated with gold, silver or other metal powders. This is a natural repair method that has existed since the 15th century in Asia, for which only Urushi lacquer in various forms, in other words the sap of a tree, is used as the main ingredient. At the Yūekina Kintsugi workshop, you can also buy Kintsugi ceramics and porcelain.

Yūekina Kintsugi is a craftsman who can give a second life to your ceramic, porcelain or other pottery pieces, with the traditional Japanese method of Kintsugi. Cracked, broken, with chips or even missing parts, I have the possibility to rebuild this ceramic object that you care about. A slow and sustainable repair technique that has spanned the centuries. It takes at least 5 weeks to repair a simple breakage, but some pieces can require months of work. The lacquer called Urushi which is used as the main element in this repair method, comes from the sap harvest of a tree commonly called "lacquer tree" or "Laquer tree" but is in fact a sumac, rhus vernacifera. What could be better than gold powder to enhance the injury of a ceramic piece. Gold powder is the gilding traditionally used to make Kintsugi, but silver, gilded aluminum, brass, and many other metal powders are also used to enhance a repair. Only pieces that have had a repair with gold, silver, or simple lacquer can be reused with a food function. A repair service intended for individuals as well as ceramic professionals or even second-hand dealers and antique dealers. Introductory courses are possible on request. Individual courses or maximum 2 people. The equipment, lacquers and gilding are provided in the introductory course pack. You just have to bring the piece you want to repair. Visit possible to the workshop by appointment.
