All year, every day.
Completed in 1879, the suspension bridge, built by the engineer Ferdinand Arnodin, replaced the ferry deemed dangerous due to the many floods of the Allier. It was a latest-generation structure, equipped with a system of stay cables intended to maintain the deck. Initially made of wood, it was replaced by a metal deck in 1970, thus increasing the admissible load to 16 tonnes. The deck is stiffened by side beams that serve as guardrails.
Due to the appearance of disorders, the bridge is currently prohibited for heavy goods vehicles and vehicles over 2m high.
The bridge is likely to be temporarily closed to traffic due to works.
